ST MADOES AND KINFAUNS CHURCH

GIFT AID

DO YOU USE GIFT AID? A gift aid declaration from a taxpayer allows the church to claim back tax and increases your giving by 28%.

HOW DOES IT WORK? The taxpayer makes a declaration that allows the church to claim back basic rate tax on any money given. A declaration will cover all giving but you can use a special gift aid envelope if you only want to make a single payment.

HOW IS GIFT AID GIVEN? Mainly by cheque to the treasurer, a cheque in the offering, in a weekly offering envelope (cash or cheque)), or, by standing order/direct debit through your bank.

HOW LONG IS IT FOR? There is no fixed period. You give what you want when you want.

DO WE REMIND YOU? . Unlike the old Deeds of Covenant the Gift Aid scheme involves no requirement to pay for any set period so reminders are inappropriate. We will however issue this general Gift Aid notice annually to every member.

IF YOU ARE A TAXPAYER AND WOULD LIKE TO ENHANCE YOUR GIVING THROUGH GIFT AID PLEASE COMPLETE THE DECLARATION BELOW AND GIVE IT TO YOUR ELDER OR THE GIFT AID CONVENOR LYNN KENNEDY, 3 CLASHBENNY PLACE, ST MADOES. YOU CAN IGNORE THIS IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SIGNED A DECLARATION.

You must pay an amount of Income tax and /or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that the charity reclaims on your donations in the appropriate tax year (currently 28p for each £1 you give)……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
