Prayer

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to teach them that they should always pray and never become discouraged.

Not finding the words to say when you pray?

John 14 v27 Peace

Father we ask today for the gift of calmness, Keep us calm when were in trouble, Keep us calm to be able to sit quietly talking to you. Keep us calm if others around us are running around and not getting anywhere. Bring us to the end of this day, relaxed and calm.

This we ask in your name.
Amen.

C - celebrate God
A - ask God for help
L - leave the problem with God
M - meditate on the good things.

May Christ calm you as He calmed the storm.
May Christ still you and keep you from harm.
May all the tumult within you cease,
May Christ enfold you in His peace.
Amen.

The Lord's Prayer
I came across a series of short prayers written by Ronald Rolheiser. They are based on the Lord’s Prayer. The theme is ‘A prayer for justice’ and each day I will post a phrase and a short prayer. Hope you all have a good day.
Marc

I got up early one morning, and rushed right into the day.
I had so much to accomplish, I didn’t have time to pray.
Trouble tumbled about me, and heavier came each task;
“Why doesn’t God help me?”  I wondered.
He answered, “You didn’t ask.” ....

I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.
Unknown poet

“Help" is a prayer that is always answered. It doesn't matter how you pray - with your head bowed in silence, or crying out in grief, or dancing. Churches are good for prayer, but so are garages and cars and mountains and showers and dance floors. Years ago I wrote an essay that began, "Some people think that God is in the details, but I have come to believe that God is in the bathroom.”
Anne Lamott

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

Psalm 139:7-10

The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.
